Siberian Altai Larch Forests and Akkem Lake Belukha Vista
altai mountains · mount belukha · akkem lake · siberian larch
Expansive landscape feature of Akkem Lake situated at the foot of Mount Belukha in the Altai Mountains. The double-peaked summit and the sheer vertical Akkem glacier wall rise majestically in the distance, crowned by crisp morning clouds. The lake's waters, opaque with pale grey-green glacial silt, reflect the massive ice walls and the steep slopes carpeted in fiery yellow-orange Siberian larch trees. The foreground shoreline consists of smooth grey slate shingle and damp river moss, with a few fallen golden needles floating motionless on the water's glassy surface. Soft golden morning side-lighting brings out the rich textural relief of the crags and trees.
