Cascading Silver Veil Down Mount Roraima's Ancient Tepui
tepui · mount roraima · quartzite cliffs · waterfall
A desktop-proportioned landscape photograph of an ancient flat-topped sandstone tepui in the Guiana Highlands. Across the frame, monolithic pinkish-grey quartzite cliffs drop sheer vertically for hundreds of meters into a dense canopy of pristine cloud forest. From a notched crevice along the flat summit plateau, a slender, single thread of waterfall plunges straight down, turning into fine silvery spray before reaching the emerald carpet below. Soft, moist vapor curls lazily around the base of the precipice, while warm afternoon sunlight strikes the rock face at a low angle, emphasizing millions of years of horizontal sediment layering. Photographed with a 70mm lens to achieve crisp, clean geometry and ample negative sky space on the left.
