create serious irish 1877 caricature image of the following: MELANCHOLY AND FATAL ACCIDENT AT BELLEEK.— On Thursday night, 31st May, about eleven o'clock, the people of this usually quiet village were alarmed by cries of fire proceeding from some person near the Bloomfield Arms Hotel. It appears that the inmates and boarders in the hotel, with the exception of the three servant girls, had retired to bed. When the girls were about to retire one of them Bessie Cooney proceeded to put out the light in the hanging lamp in the kitchen, and, the screw of the burner being bad, it would not turn down the wick. It is supposed the girl blew down into the chimney, causing the oil to explode and spread over her body, and before any assistance was rendered she was frightfully burned from the effects of which she died about five hours afterwards. Some people think had there been the least presence of mind displayed, or even had any of the seven men who were lying in their beds upstairs come down on hearing the first cries, the life of the girl might have been saved.
