Soft Pastel Chalk Study of Sleeping Ginger Siblings
pastel drawing · chalk art · ginger tabby · kitten siblings
A traditional soft pastel chalk drawing on toned charcoal-grey ingres paper in a 3:2 landscape aspect ratio, portraying two ginger tabby kittens wrapped together in deep sleep. The sleeping siblings form a vibrant, warm cluster in the right half of the composition, rendered with visible dry scumbled strokes of cadmium orange, apricot, cream, and soft burnt ochre that build the tactile volume of their interlocked fur as one kitten rests its cheek beneath its sibling's chin. The left half of the wide drawing dissolves into a smoothly blended, vignetted charcoal-grey haze, showcasing the tooth of the fine art paper while offering open, quiet negative space ideal for desktop wallpaper organization, uniting expressive traditional draftsmanship with functional horizontal balance.
